It was a fun Christmas season with the kids.

We hope you all had an amazing Christmas and a Happy New Year.

It’s cold and snowy, sunshine isn’t a word you here anymore in the weather forecast. So do you know what that means here in Detroit? It’s auto showtime!

The perfect opportunity to dream of warm summer days in your dream ride. Or how about plowing your way through the snow in a new luxury RAM truck. That’s MY style. That’s my black 1500 RAM in the snowbank last winter.

This year FCA had it’s largest display EVER at the NAIAS! So here is a link for a walk through of the 2016 FCA area. I hope you enjoy it and we hope to see you in Detroit.

A SAILS Thanksgiving Feast

IMG_2392

It’s the Monday before the first big day of this Holiday season. Can you believe it’s almost Thanksgiving? Here in Metro Detroit (South East Michigan)  we have already had snow and ice, as much of the U.S. has had. But this morning it is a balmy 57 degrees here, with a wind advisory for this afternoon.

I have one child in a C.I. classroom for children with special needs. Each year the kiddos cook up a Thanksgiving Feast. So today we have been summoned to the Great Feast. It’s so fun to see the smiles of pride on the children’s faces. Each knowing that they have helped to prepare a part of the Feast, which their family members are partaking in.

This is Jeremy’s last year to help with the Feast since next year he will be moving up to the middle school. So it is a bit sad to attend today knowing that it’s one of the finally elementary school events that he so loves to do.

As we head into this busy week we are Thankful for each and every one of you who read this. If you are busy getting things ready for your own feast, take a moment to remember something to be thankful for, and breath. May your life be blessed with all the happiness that you each seek.

Enjoy Life, God Speed.

Throw Back Thursday

A year ago today (11/14/13) I was in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We stopped at the Gerald Ford Presidential Library; sadly it was already closed for the day. There were workers putting light on the tree’s outside the library in preparation for the coming Christmas season. One of the guys told us we should stick around for a little bit because there were going to test the lights to ensure everything was perfect for the upcoming tree lighting ceremony. Since it was a warm November evening and we weren’t in any hurry we decided to stick around to see the tree light.

About 10 minutes later the magic of the season begin at The Gerald Ford Presidential Library. The Library twinkled with presidential beauty. We snapped some photos of the scene, and all few dark again. The trees were now to remain dark until the official tree lighting ceremony, which was scheduled for later in November. It was a beautiful moment that evening in Grand Rapids, with a beautiful sunset to end the day.

The next day we drove up to Mackinaw via The Tunnel of Trees. This is an amazing drive along the lake. If you have never done it and you enjoy the back road this is a must. It was raining so I didn’t get photos.

We topped off the staycation in Mackinaw City, and Mackinaw Island. A perfect few days along lives journey.
